Health and safety information

Zumba Fitness is an exciting and dynamic class that mixes traditional dance moves with aerobic style choreography. It is suitable for all levels of dancers but there are 5 main safety rules that everyone should observe to make sure you have a happy, healthy class!

1. Stay Hydrated:

Drink plenty of water before, during, and after the class to prevent dehydration. It's essential to replace fluids lost through sweating to avoid overheating and exhaustion. You can keep a bottle of water at the side of the hall and always take a break when you need to!

2. Listen to your body

Pay attention to how your body feels during the class. If you experience any pain, dizziness, or discomfort, take a break and inform the instructor. Pushing through pain can lead to injury. If you have any concerns or injuries then please let your instructor know before class begins!

3. Proper footwear

Wear supportive and comfortable athletic shoes designed for dance or aerobic activities. Proper footwear can prevent slips, falls, and foot injuries during fast-paced movements. You should also wear appropriate clothing to make sure you're comfortable during your workout.

4. WARM-up and cool-down

We always start with a proper warm-up to prepare your muscles and joints for the workout. Likewise, end the class with a cool-down session to gradually lower your heart rate and stretch your muscles, reducing the risk of injury and muscle soreness. Please make sure to arrive on time and stay until the end of class.

5. Respect your limits

While it's essential to challenge yourself, know your limits and avoid overexertion. Don't try to keep up with more advanced participants if it compromises your form or safety. Modify movements if needed to suit your fitness level and abilities.
